Transit Problems Due To Flight Delay

Consultation Detail

I arrived in Paris by Air France flight AF293 from Haneda Airport. The flight is scheduled to go to Lublin, Poland. The connecting Air France flight AF1146 (CDG/WAW09:30/11:45) from Paris to Warsaw will be delayed for about three hours due to mechanical problems. The train is supposed to travel from Warsaw to Lublin, but the train is scheduled to depart from Warsaw at 16:05, and there is a high possibility that I will miss the train. What should I do?

Advice

There are also trains from Warsaw to Lublin, departing at 17:15 and 18:25. It is also possible to travel by bus. When our agent asked him to check his travel insurance, he told us that the insurance covers flight delays (up to 30,000 yen) and that the train ticket (up to 1,600 yen) would be covered even if he had to buy a new one, so if he had to stay in Warsaw, the insurance would cover the cost of his accommodation as well. In addition, we told him not to take it too far and to think about moving on to the next flight if he couldn't make it to the scheduled train, because the risk of being a victim of crime and so on increases if he took too much time. We also told him to call us if he had any problems after arriving in Warsaw.

Outcome

Since there was no further communication, we assume that he was able to get to Lublin safely. When trouble arises on an itinerary, it is normal to try and force yourself to travel as per the itinerary. In 2012, a female university student was robbed and killed in Romania when she was late arriving at Bucharest airport and the last bus from the airport to Bucharest station had already left and she might not be able to catch her connecting train. It was because she got in a car with a stranger.
